TRANSPARENCY & COMMERCIAL DISCLOSURE

Affiliate Disclosure

Seed Reserve Lab is reader-supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you follow an eligible link and complete a qualifying purchase.

Last updated: September 21, 2026

In plain English: if you click an affiliate link on Seed Reserve Lab and later make a qualifying purchase, the merchant or affiliate platform may credit Seed Reserve Lab with a commission. We do not charge you a separate fee for using our link. The merchant controls the final price, promotions, taxes, shipping, and purchase terms.

How affiliate links work

An affiliate link is a trackable link supplied by a merchant or affiliate network. When you follow one, the merchant or network may use cookies or other identifiers to recognize that Seed Reserve Lab referred the visit. If a qualifying purchase occurs within the applicable attribution period, we may receive a commission.

Tracking rules vary by merchant. Attribution windows, eligible products, commission rates, promotional restrictions, and payment terms can change. Those program rules are set by the merchant or affiliate platform, not by Seed Reserve Lab.

What affiliate relationships do—and do not—mean

Affiliate revenue helps support the research, hosting, tools, maintenance, and editorial work required to operate Seed Reserve Lab. It does not give a merchant the right to purchase a favorable conclusion.

  • Commission does not determine our comparison criteria. We evaluate products using the same practical framework whether a merchant offers a high commission, a low commission, or no affiliate program at all.
  • Affiliate status does not erase drawbacks. If packaging, variety balance, price, storage design, or garden fit raises a legitimate concern, we aim to say so.
  • Inclusion is not the same as endorsement. A product may appear in a comparison because it is relevant to the reader’s decision, even when it is not the best fit for that reader.
  • Non-affiliate products may be included. When a non-affiliate option materially improves a comparison, we may discuss it even though we cannot earn a commission from it.

Our editorial rule

Research first. Merchant second. Our goal is to help you understand what fits your garden, what trade-offs matter, and what facts still deserve verification before you buy.

How we disclose affiliate relationships on the site

We aim to make material affiliate relationships clear and easy to notice. On commercial pages, a disclosure may appear near the beginning of the content, before or close to comparison tables, product recommendations, or affiliate calls to action. A sitewide disclosure may also appear in the footer.

A typical short-form disclosure on Seed Reserve Lab may read:

Affiliate disclosure: Seed Reserve Lab may earn a commission if you purchase through links on this page, at no additional charge from us. Our comparison criteria and editorial conclusions are independent of affiliate compensation.

Prices, promotions, and merchant offers

Affiliate links do not give Seed Reserve Lab control over a merchant’s checkout. Prices, coupons, sale periods, shipping fees, taxes, inventory, product contents, and eligibility can change without notice.

Where we display a numeric price, we may record when it was last verified. If a stored price becomes stale, our product system may replace the number with “Check Current Price” until it is reviewed again. The merchant’s website and checkout are the final source for the amount you will actually pay.

Affiliate tracking and analytics

Affiliate merchants and networks may use cookies, referral identifiers, sub-identifiers, or similar technologies to attribute a visit or purchase. Seed Reserve Lab may also measure outbound affiliate clicks on our own site so we can understand which pages and calls to action are useful to readers.

Our own analytics do not turn an outbound click into a confirmed sale. A merchant or affiliate platform remains the source of record for whether a qualifying transaction was attributed and whether a commission was earned.

Paid advertising and affiliate links

Seed Reserve Lab may use paid advertising to bring readers to our own editorial or comparison pages. We do not treat an ad click as a product purchase, and advertising spend does not change the editorial criteria described in our Editorial Policy. Where an affiliate program restricts trademark bidding, direct linking, or other promotional practices, we aim to follow the applicable program terms.

Free products, samples, sponsorships, and other material relationships

If Seed Reserve Lab receives a free product, sample, discount, sponsorship, or other material consideration connected to coverage, we will disclose that relationship in the relevant content. Receiving a sample or other consideration does not guarantee coverage, a positive review, or a recommendation.

Our current approach to merchant relationships

Merchant relationships can change over time. Rather than treating this page as a permanent directory of every affiliate program, we identify relevant commercial relationships in the content where they matter and maintain our internal product and merchant records separately.

A merchant appearing on Seed Reserve Lab should not be interpreted as a partnership, endorsement, ownership relationship, or guarantee of product performance unless we explicitly state otherwise.

Editorial independence

For a fuller explanation of how we research products, verify claims, distinguish merchant facts from editorial interpretation, handle hands-on testing, and correct errors, please read our Editorial Policy & Review Standards.

Questions about this disclosure

If you have a question about an affiliate relationship, a disclosure on a specific page, or how a merchant link is presented, please contact us and include the page URL when possible.

The short version

We may earn money from qualifying purchases made through affiliate links. That commercial relationship should be visible to you, and it should not prevent us from explaining a product’s limitations or recommending that you choose something else.
